The New Era for HP

HP was on the decline due to low demand in PC. Maybe it can revive its offering by opening it's own stores like the Microsoft, Apple, and Samsung.
But it will not be a wise move if HP open its store in store in BestBuy next to Samsung Products.
Here's why:
1. Samsung opened the store within the store in BestBuy to compete with Apple which already is present in the  store. Samsung want to send some message that 'hey we are cheaper alternative to Apple products!' So HP don't need to compete on that one. HP needs another store that will cater it needs to bring the consumer products to people.
2. Some direct competition in one roof is sometimes not good for business especially if you are just starting to recover from a downfall.

Here are the things  I think HP should do.
1. Develop variety of products in each segment. (Laptop, tablet, smartphone, pC) - done already.
2. Offer it in different Flavors. I mean different OS. Android- fork it like what Amzon did. Microsoft - OS of theirs won't be wiped out in the scene.
And Linux for the enthusiast/nerdy/students. And make it awesomely easy to use.
3. Put a store within a store but not in direct comparison to other products.
Sell it to stores like RadioShack which are almost in every corner. Take the selling to the basics. Down low to the consumer as you can. Store appearance is not a major thing here. It's the product that needs to make sense. Consumer must say 'I want that' to the product offerings.
4. Ship to store is the trend now. So take advantage of the partnership with the shop for shipping. (Coz there are some problems in home delivery in electronics that wasn't delivered or lost along the way) so ship to store is the next logical move for the people who buys it online and on the go and want it pick up along the way to their homes.
5. This will benefit the HP as well as the RadioShack - and I am sure that the other company will follow in this kind of setup. It's becoming the norm.

China and Company

Have you check China lately?

In regards to tech industries in the land of Kung Fu, names like Baidu emerges in the news. Baidu is the largest search engine in China (after Google left the mainland from the pressure of the government regarding censorship).
Now Huawei is emerging after the government and state media is pounding Apple regarding the products it offers to its citizen.

It is so obvious that the model China want in their country is the model of business the USA has. In the US, the likes of IBM, HP, Apple, Google, Microsoft are all American companies working and serving mostly American - so the Chinese leaders thought - why don't we kick out all non-Chinese company inside China? Pressure them to quit business here and let's make our own Chinese version of that company we just kicked? In that case all the profit and all the money will be inside the borders.

What industry will be the next?
